50 artists join hands to create 50 Justice candles to support Human Rights

It is the first time for Amnesty International Hong Kong (AIHK) organizing such a creative event to campaign for human rights.  50 local celebrities and artists were invited to create 50 unique candles, with the topic of “Demand Dignity”, which symbolizes Amnesty International 50th anniversary, as well as lighting up human rights and hopes.
Amnesty International was founded on May 28th, 1961; while AIHK was founded in 1982. Apart from concerning local human rights issues, AlHK also active on global campaigns and human rights education. All these activities were carried out with the mission of introducing universal human rights value to the public and develop a society with respect for human rights. HK Honey is collaborating with us on this event for providing artists the local-produced natural beeswax.

The opening of Amnesty International 50th anniversary
 

The candle exhibition is a kick off for the “Light Up- Amnesty International 50th Anniversary”, which will be held on May 27th at Sheung Wan. At this golden anniversary, AIHK had invited Legislator Ms Audrey Yu and Mr. Lee Cheuk Yan, well-known journalist Mr. Ching Cheong, Mr. Micheal Leung from HK Honey to be our honorable guests of the event. Ms Armin Kalyanram, the chairperson of AIHK, will invite the guests to open the exhibition by light up candles and give short speeches on varies topics of Human Rights.
