Refugees and asylum seekers in Hong Kong
There has been a lot of news recently on illegal immigrants arriving from South Asia, "stealing" jobs from Hong Kong, and burdening on our social welfare. However, there has been little discussion on the difference between economic migrants and asylum seekers. At this Friday Coffee Talk, we will be discussing the difference between refugees, asylum seekers and migrants and Hong Kong's obligation as an international city towards them.
