Be a part of the world's largest letter-writing event! Join the Amnesty International's Global Write-A-Thon from now to January 2010. Your letters can make a difference in the life of someone who needs you! Over 100,000 letters have been pledged from writers from over 32 countries. There is a number of ways you can help organize this event.

We've seen prisoners freed and lives spared because your letters make things happen! Just last year, Ma Khin Khin Leh, a school teacher in Myanmar and Hana Abdi, a women's rights advocate in Iran, were both released from prison after Write-a-thon letters overwhelmed their respective government offices. Join the Global Write-a-thon today and show the world that when you stand up for human rights, you never stand.

END 25 YEARS OF INJUSTICE IN BHOPAL

The 1984 Bhopal tragedy has left a devastating mark on the world that will not be forgotten. After 25 years, the impact of the deadly chemical leak still affects the local people.

To make matters worse, the factory site has not been cleaned up yet, and more than 100,000 people suffer from health problems. In addition, companies such as Union Carbide and Dow Chemicals that are involved with this tragedy have evaded accountability and obstructed the efforts of victims to secure reparation.

On December 2, 2009, the people of Bhopal will mark the 25th anniversary of the destructive incident. Amnesty International will act in solidarity with the people of Bhopal to highlight the ongoing human rights impacts of the 1984 leak.

Come out to help collect signatures and remember those who suffered from the disaster.
