Pakistan: "As If Hell Fell On Me" -- The Human Rights Crisis in Northwest Pakistan
Some four million Pakistanis have been caught in a human rights and humanitarian crisis that has gripped northwest Pakistan since 2004. The conflict and associated insecurity have displaced hundreds of thousands of Pakistanis. Many of them suffer from serious food and water shortages, and have insufficient access to other basic needs such as health care and education. This report documents how this crisis was precipitated by violations of international humanitarian law, as well as human rights law, by both the Pakistani government and insurgent groups.

Iran: From Protest to Prison -- Iran One Year After The Election
One year on from the disputed presidential election of June 2009, Iranians who want to criticize the Government or protest against mounting human rights violations face an ever-tightening gag as the authorities and the shadowy intelligence services consolidate their grip on the country and intensify the repression already in place for years. This report focuses on the situation of detainees and prisoners in Iran while recognizing that many other egregious human rights violations in Iran deserve attention in their own right.

Malaysia: Abused And Abandoned -- Refugees Denied Rights in Malaysia
Malaysia is 'home' to between 90,000 and 170,000 refugees and asylum-seekers, most of whom end up living in its urban centres. They come to Malaysia seeking safety, having fled situations of torture, persecution or death threats. But once they arrive, they are abused, exploited, arrested and locked-up – in effect treated like criminals. This report focuses on the human rights violations experienced by refugees and asylum-seekers in Malaysia. These rights must be respected in line with international standards. A coherent migration policy should be implemented.
