ONLINE ACTION: URGE ASEAN TO PRESS MYANMAR AUTHORITIES TO UPHOLD THE '3 FREEDOMS' AND RELEASE ALL PRISONERS OF CONSCIENCE

It was announced earlier that the Myanmar elections will be held on November 7 and it is likely that repression on human rights will intensify in the run up to the elections, especially the '3 Freedoms' of expression, assembly, and association. Up until now, ASEAN has only called for 'free and fair elections' in Myanmar, which is not enough to highlight the human rights that are most at risk in this context. Please send letters to foreign ministers of 9 ASEAN nations to press Myanmar authorities to uphold the '3 Freedoms' and release all political prisoners.

Around 200,000 young women and girls were forced into sexual servitude by the Japanese military in WWII. 65 years later, they are still campaigning for justice.

AIHK has launched a "Butterflies for Justice" postcard campaign for the justice of those comfort women. Feel free to collect and sign a butterfly postcard at the following outlets, which asks the Japanese Prime Minister to acknowledge its responsibility or legal liability.
