The Lady Charity Gala Premiere |
On behalf of Amnesty International Hong Kong (AIHK), I am writing to cordially invite you to attend the Charity Gala Premiere of The Lady on 3rd Feb 2012 (Friday) and join us in our continuous fight for justice and human rights for all.
The Lady, directed by renowned Mr. Luc Besson and starring one of the most successful Asian Actresses, Ms. Michelle Yeoh, depicts the love epic of the iconic human rights defender in Myanmar, Aung San Suu Kyi. Amnesty International Hong Kong is pleased to host the charity premiere of the movie that is based on the life story of our Amnesty International’s Ambassador of Conscience. With Mr. Besson and Ms. Yeoh confirming their presence to support the premiere, this is going to be a much anticipated event. Moreover, your presence and support surely would add meaning and strength for us!
Proceeds of the Premiere will go to AIHK Human Rights Education Charitable Trust. The Trust supports our human rights education programme which aims to nurture local students’ value of mutual respect and understanding of human rights abuses in Myanmar and other places in the world.
In order to maintain our independence, we do not seek or accept donations from governments or other political organizations. AIHK currently has over 2,000 donors and volunteers who contribute to over 80% of our budget. We believe that the protection and promotion of human rights are rooted in the active involvement of the community.
Your support to us mean much more than making donation to us, it is a form of confirmation and encouragement to our continuous works in making global changes in human rights condition. By coming to join us in this film tribute to Aung San Suu Kyi, it is a renewable affirmation that your signature to our campaigns would have results, even if the effect is not immediate.
Should you have any query, please contact our fundraising team at 2300 1250.
