Amnesty International is proud to be participating in this year's Pride Parade 2009 marching in solidarity with the Hong Kong lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people.

Amnesty International believes that all people, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, should be able to enjoy the full range of human rights, without exception.

Pride is about recognizing and respecting the rights of all people to freely express their sexual identity without fear of discrimination or persecution.

However, every day, across the globe, sexual orientation or gender identity leads to abuse in the form of discrimination, violence, imprisonment, torture, or even execution.

We are looking for volunteers to help out at our Pride Parade, stewarding the float and a number of other activities. Sign up here, let us know you are coming and be part of this colorful celebration.

If you are unable to commit to volunteering or marching with us, you can still come along in support and be there on Nov. 1!

14:30-16:30  |  Sunday, November 1, 2009
