緬甸知名的境外異見人士金奧瑪 (Khin Ohmar) 將代表人權組織Burma Partnership來港。她遠道而來是為了爭取香港團體及市民對緬甸人權運動的支持。為此，「香港爭取緬甸自由聯盟」將在2月5-6日舉辦一系列的活動，誠邀各位出席。

The Hong Kong Coalition for a Free Burma (HKCFB) is hosting a visit by Khin Ohmar from Burma Partnership (BP), an organization in Mae Sot on the Thai-Burmese border that seeks to be a bridge between the people inside Myanmar (formerly known as Burma) with the solidarity actions of others around the world. Ohmar will be in Hong Kong on Feb. 5 and 6, and the Coalition has organized the following activities to take advantage of her presence here:

青年發展小組旨在探討如何針對青年人群推動人權發展。小組成員包括青年組織, AI Club, 和任何對青年發展有興趣的人士。今次會議目的要為國際婦女節和2010年的青年發展項目開始討論和計劃。

The Youth Development Taskforce (YDT) is a strategic group that aims to gather ideas to mobilize youth in the community to take action on human rights issues.

The Taskforce consists of youth groups, AI Clubs, and individuals who are interested in getting involved with young people.

The objective of this meeting is to plan for the upcoming International Women’s Day and youth development projects in 2010.

You can help to secure justice for the victims of human rights violations in Papua. Please write to the Indonesian authorities, calling on them to:

你可以幫助在印尼巴布亞被侵犯人權的受害者保衛公義。請去信印尼的當權者，要求他們：

• 就在巴布亞地區的納比雷有關侵犯人權的報告以及與警務人員有關的死亡事件進行調查，並公開調查結果；把任何證實侵犯了人權的警務人員革職，並將他們法辦。
• 保證所有在納比雷駐守的警務人員熟識印尼有關人權和運用武力的警察規條以及相關的國際標準，以及有所須的知識和配備執行日常工作。
• 成立一個獨立的監察警察機制，快捷，公正和獨立地處理公眾的投訴。

You can help to secure justice for the victims of human rights violations in Papua. Please write to the Indonesian authorities, calling on them to:

• Investigate reports of human rights violations and deaths involving police officials in Nabire, Papua province and make the results of the investigation public. Remove any police officials found to have committed human rights violations from their duties and ensure that they are brought to justice.
• Ensure that all police officials stationed in Nabire are familiar with Indonesian Police Regulations on Human Rights and on the Use of Force and relevant international standards, and have the necessary knowledge and equipment to apply these in their daily work.
• Set up an independent police oversight mechanism to deal with complaints from the public in a prompt, impartial and independent manner.
