India: Supreme Court order to protect the Dalit family
Thank you all for supporting our urgent action appealed in our previous e-newsletter. Your voices have been heard!

On 16 September, the Supreme Court of India ordered the Delhi Police to provide protection to 23-year-old Meenakshi Kumari, her 15-year-old sister, and the rest of her family. They are currently living in Delhi and are fearful of returning to their village. We will continue to work with Meenakshi and her family to ensure they will receive full protection and will be able to live in peace. We will also call for investigation into abuses that the family say they have been subjected to in recent months, and ask local and national officials for reparation of the original ruling of sexual violence against women.
