Myanmar: Student activists Phyoe Phyoe Aung and her husband are facing additional charges
Phyoe Phyoe Aung, Secretary General of the All Burma Federation of Student Unions (ABFSU), is one of our cases of Write for Rights 2015. She has received seven additional charges for protesting without authorization. Each charge carries a six-month sentence, which means that she can be imprisoned for up to 13 years.
Her husband Lin Htet Naing has also received an additional six charges for protesting without authorization. He is detained in Insein prison in Yangon, and is now facing up to nine years and six months imprisonment.
Demand Myanmar authorities to immediately and unconditionally release Phyoe Phyoe Aung, Lin Htet Naing and all other students detained who simply protested peacefully
