Human Rights Friday Talk: The Burmese refugees I met in Maesot, Thailand last summer

Date: 29 April 2016, Friday
Time: 18:30 to 20:00
Venue: HKPTU@MK - 7/F, Chung Kiu Commercial Bldg., 51 Shantung Street, Mong Kok

This is a sharing given by Ms. Wong Yuet Yee, a high school student and her teacher Ms. Lo Kit Ling. Last summer, in a team of 5, they volunteered in Maesot (a city situated on the border of Thailand and Myanmar). They met Burmese refugees and listened to their stories of pains and joys. In Maesot, they had been to high-end shopping malls as well as "rubbish mountains" with nasty smells. The moment of the trip was unforgettable and it was an experience to reflect on.

Please join our Human Rights Friday talk if you would like to know more about their trip in Maesot. The talk is conducted in Cantonese.
