Young Human Rights Journalists Programme

Young Human Rights Journalists Programme

“Young Human Rights Journalists Programme” 2015-16,

Open for Application by Students of Secondary 4 to 6

Amnesty International Hong Kong (AIHK) is committed to human rights education. In order to encourage more young people to be aware of human rights issues, AIHK is launching this August a new programme titled “Young Human Rights Journalists Programme” (or “the Programme”). The Programme aims to improve young people’s knowledge of various human rights issues such as children’s rights, rights of expression, discrimination, controversy over the death penalty, etc. The Programme even provides participants with professional journalistic training offered by current journalists and scholars of mass communication, with a view to equipping participants with the professional skills in news coverage, news writing, photography, etc. Participants can have real-life contact with society through writing and covering the news, learning to examine current issues from various angles and hence understand our society better.
