We have monthly meetings with members and friends who are interested in working for the abolition of the death penalty movement. In these meetings, we formulate strategies to help develop Amnesty International’s global campaign on the death penalty. This includes working out what we could do in Hong Kong to raise awareness of the issue, what campaigning events we could be involved in and the cases or themes we would work on.
There are some really important events we can organise our own – like the International Anti-Death Penalty day on October 10, working on individual cases and countries, and developing our own materials for Hong Kong people.
If you are interested in getting involved in such important work please do come along to our next meeting.
The meetings will be in Cantonese and English. Aside from other organised activities, we will arrange a regular monthly meeting.
Amnesty International has monitored developments regarding the use of the death penalty and advocated for its abolition for more than three decades. If you are interested in working with us on this issue, you are invited to become a member of the volunteer group to abolish the death penalty.
